Mixpanel is an industry-leading product analytics solution for mobile and web applications. The company’s powerful self-serve tool helps product teams understand usage so they can build products that convert, engage, and retain more users.

As an analytics tool, data is the input that powers every insight. On a recent episode of The Data Stack Show, Mixpanel VP of Product and Design, Neil Rahilly noted “the better and richer and more trusted the data that gets loaded into Mixpanel, the more value we can create for our customers.” To get better, richer, and more trusted data into the tool, Mixpanel takes a warehouse-first approach to analytics, positioning the cloud data warehouse at the center of the data stack. With the warehouse at the center storing aggregated data from across the user journey and the data stack, it becomes a central, foundational source of truth allowing Mixpanel to deliver deeper insights.

Rudderstack supports Mixpanel as a source for pulling event stream data into your warehouse. We also support Mixpanel as a destination for events and as a destination for data from other sources modeled in your warehouse. Not only can you send behavioral data to Mixpanel, but you can enrich it with other event and dimension tables you have in your warehouse based on other sources, like payments, support tickets, and sales activity. This lets you answer a much broader set of questions about your users.
