Rudder Lookout FAQ
Private Beta
Answers to common questions about Rudder Lookout.
This guide answers some common questions about Rudder Lookout. If your question is not answered here, reach out to Customer Success.
What is Rudder Lookout?
Lookout is AI-powered analytics and instrumentation for RudderStack. You talk to your data stack in plain English and get back durable artifacts — answers, dashboards, documentation, measurement plans, and code changes proposed as pull requests.
See the Overview guide for more information.
How do I get access to Lookout?
Lookout is currently in Private Beta. Reach out to Customer Success to get access.
Which warehouses does Lookout support?
Lookout supports the following warehouses:
- Postgres
- Snowflake
- Redshift
- BigQuery
- Databricks
Note that warehouse access is read-only — see the Warehouses guide for more information.
Can Lookout change or write to my warehouse?
No. Warehouse access is read-only — the agent queries your data but cannot write to or alter it.
See the Security and Data Handling guide for more information.
Can the Lookout agent change my code directly?
No — code changes always arrive as pull requests (GitHub) or merge requests (GitLab) proposals that go through your normal review process. A human reviews and merges before anything lands.
Who can see my Lookout dashboards?
By default, dashboards are visible only to members of your workspace. A dashboard can be published to a public, read-only link only if an admin has enabled public sharing and a member publishes it.
See Sharing Dashboards for more information.
Can people outside my team use Lookout?
People who are not workspace members can be given read-only guest access. Unlinked Slack users can ask read-only questions (on by default, but an admin can disable it), and anyone with a public dashboard link can view it.
Guests can only read and ask, never edit or change any data. See Roles and Permissions for more information.
Can I use Lookout from Slack?
Yes — you can chat with the same agent from a Slack direct message or a bound channel.
See Slack for more information.
What are AI credits in Lookout?
Credits measure your workspace’s AI usage. You can review usage under Settings > AI Credits.
See AI Credits for more information.
