# Audiences and Activation

{{< customreadfile "/includes/lookout/beta-callout.md" >}}

Describe the people you want to reach, and the agent works out how to find them in your warehouse. It reads your tables, drafts a definition, and shows you what each rule keeps and what it drops — so you can see the audience take shape before you commit to it.

When the audience is right, send it to a destination. It stays in sync from there.

## In this section

| Guide | <div style="width: 350px;">Description</div> |
|-------|------------------------------------------------|
| [Build an Audience with the Agent]({{< ref "lookout/audiences/build-an-audience.md" >}}) | Describe an audience in chat and watch the agent turn it into a definition you can check. |
| [Refine an Audience with AI Insights]({{< ref "lookout/audiences/refine-an-audience.md" >}}) | Adjust a rule with the sliders and value pills that sit under it, each one anchored to real counts. |
| [Activate an Audience]({{< ref "lookout/audiences/activate-an-audience.md" >}}) | Send an audience to a destination and keep it in sync. |

## What you need first

- A [connected warehouse]({{< ref "lookout/integrations/warehouses.md" >}}) holding the customer data you want to segment
- A [linked RudderStack workspace]({{< ref "lookout/integrations/rudderstack.md" >}}), which is where the destinations you activate to live

{{< info >}}
Audiences and activation are turned on per workspace while Lookout is in beta. If you don't see **Audiences** and **Activations** in your sidebar and you'd like to try them, reach out to [Customer Success](mailto:support@rudderstack.com) or your account team.
