# SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)


[SFTP](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSH_File_Transfer_Protocol) stands for SSH File Transfer Protocol. It is a secure file transfer mechanism that allows you to access, transfer, and manage your files over a reliable data stream. 

RudderStack lets you transfer your warehouse data at scale to your downstream apps by leveraging SFTP.
