# Braze Audiences


[Braze](https://www.braze.com/) is a customer engagement platform for messaging, campaigns, and user profiles. **Braze Audiences** syncs audience membership into Braze as a **boolean custom attribute** on each user profile (join → `true`, leave → `false`).

**Braze Audiences** is separate from the Event Stream [Braze]({{< ref "destinations/streaming-destinations/braze/" >}}) destination. 

Use **Braze** for sending `track`, `identify`, and other Event Stream traffic. Use **Braze Audiences** for Reverse ETL / Audience Builder mirror syncs.
