Rudder Assist

Leverage RudderStack’s AI-powered agent to manage and interact with your RudderStack workspace via Slack.

This feature is in Closed Beta as part of RudderStack’s Early Access Program, where we work with early users and customers to test new features and get feedback before making them generally available.
Before you get started, make sure to opt into the feature by contacting your RudderStack representative.
Rudder Assist is an AI agent that helps you maintain and interact with your RudderStack workspace. It has a Slack integration, allowing you to directly access the agent from your Slack channel and converse with your workspace using natural language — support for other platforms like RudderStack dashboard, Microsoft Teams, etc. is coming soon.

Rudder Assist helps you with a broad range of tasks, like monitoring pipeline health, debugging issues, analyzing data quality, getting recommendations for your workspace configuration, and more.
Key features
- Monitor pipeline health: Check event volumes, success rates, and delivery metrics across sources and destinations
- Debug issues faster: Analyze failed events and transformation errors with masked PII protection
- Access configuration: View sources, destinations, transformations, and Tracking Plans
- Query documentation: Get AI-powered answers to RudderStack product questions
The following features are available in Advanced mode:
- Manage transformations: Create, update, and deploy transformation code directly from Slack
- Run warehouse analytics (coming soon): Query your data warehouse using natural language
Operating modes
Rudder Assist operates in two modes:

| Standard mode | Read-only access to your workspace with PII protection. Handles most monitoring and debugging use cases. |
| Advanced mode | Adds write access and warehouse analytics (coming soon). Opt-in required |

Start with Standard mode to learn the assistant’s capabilities before using Advanced mode.
Access and permissions
Rudder Assist cannot modify sources, destinations, or other workspace configuration. Write access is limited to transformations in Advanced mode only.
Also, note that:
- Once set up, Rudder Assist responds only in your designated Slack channel — you cannot use it in direct messages or other channels.
- Rudder Assist works within your Personal Access Token’s (PAT) workspace only.

All
write actions performed by Rudder Assist are logged to the Personal Access Token (PAT) owner in their workspace’s
Audit Logs.
Data privacy
Rudder Assist uses Amazon Bedrock for AI processing. Your data is never used to train AI models, and the conversations are not stored.
Note that:
- In Standard mode, customer PII is automatically masked before reaching the AI
- Advanced mode with SQL Agent (coming soon) processes unmasked data through our secure AI infrastructure to enable powerful analysis
