RudderAI in Slack
2 minute read
RudderAI is available in your designated Slack channel as a conversational assistant. It provides the same core RudderAI capabilities, including pipeline monitoring, issue debugging, data quality analysis, and documentation answers.
See RudderAI Key Capabilities for the complete list of supported tasks and example questions.
Availability
RudderAI in Slack is available for Enterprise and Growth plan customers.
Contact your RudderStack representative to:
- Enable RudderAI for your workspace
- Set or change your designated Slack channel
- Opt out of RudderAI
Access the assistant
Mention @RudderAI in your designated Slack channel to start a conversation. RudderAI responds in the same thread.
Key features
- Thread-based conversations: Each mention starts or continues a conversation thread. RudderAI uses the thread context to understand follow-up questions.
- File and screenshot uploads: Attach screenshots or error logs directly in the Slack thread to give RudderAI additional context for troubleshooting. Upload the image alongside your message describing the issue.
- Natural language: Use plain language to ask questions — no special syntax or commands required. For example, ask “Why are events failing for my Amplitude destination?” instead of looking up destination IDs yourself.
Limitations
- RudderAI responds only in the designated Slack channel. You cannot use it in direct messages or other channels.
- Anyone in the designated Slack channel can interact with RudderAI, including users who may not have direct access to the connected RudderStack workspace.
- RudderAI works within your production workspace only.
Access and permissions
RudderAI can’t create, modify, or delete any workspace configuration. It works within your production workspace and follows the same access model described in RudderAI Security and Compliance.
RudderAI can make mistakes. Verify responses before acting on them.
